Tower Hamlets – Information and Advice Officer

deafPLUS is seeking Information and Advice Officer to provides advice to people who are d/Deaf and hard of hearing across in the Tower Hamlets borough, enabling them to understand their rights and responsibilities, access what they are entitled to, manage and resolve their problems and build their independence.

deafPLUS is a registered medium-sized charity and company limited by guarantee working to encourage integration and equality between D/deaf and hearing people in all areas of life. We provide a range of services from advocacy to employment, equipment to information and advice across 6 centres around the UK. 

deafPLUS is seeking Information and Advice Officer to provides advice to people who are d/Deaf and hard of hearing across in the Tower Hamlets borough, enabling them to understand their rights and responsibilities, access what they are entitled to, manage and resolve their problems and build their independence.

 If you:

  • have great organisational and interpersonal skills
  • have experience of giving social welfare advice (in either a paid or volunteer position)
  • have great communication skills
  • have an awareness and understanding of d/Deaf issues pertaining to d/Deaf and hard of hearing people

Then you are the person we are looking for.

  • This is a part time position 8 hours one day per week
  • Salary - £20,702.00 - £23,088.00 (pro rata) depending on experience
  • Contract until 31st March 2023.
