Deaf Awareness Training

Being deaf aware is a great way to demonstrate good business practice.  Our Deaf Awareness course will give learners an all round understanding of deafness, and the diverse communication needs of people who are deaf or hard of hearing.

After having completed  the training you will:

  • gain an understanding of equipment for deaf people and how it works
  • understand the work of Language Support Professionals and how to use them effectively in the workplace
  • feel confident about communicating with people who are deaf or hard of hearing, thereby allowing you to break down barriers faced by people with hearing loss.

Interested in having your staff attend our Deaf Awareness Training?  We can come to your organisation and do so!  Our fees are as follows:

Half day (3 Hours) Deaf Awareness Training: £450 - maximum 15 learners
Full day (6 hours) Deaf Awareness Training: £750 - maximum 30 learners

Here is what some of our previous students have to say about our Deaf Awareness Training course:

"The training was very informative, made me realise how hard it must be for my deaf colleagues sometimes.  I can try to put into practice what I have learnt. The trainer was very good and made the experience enjoyable."

"This training was extremely interesting and helped me understand some of the difficulties I never realise deaf customers and Partners must have in communicating. I particularly enjoyed learning some sign language and I will make  sure to keep learning a little bit every day. Thank you for the amazing experience."

"This training was the most enjoyable class I have had since my start over five years. I now feel I will be able to communicate much better with Jumoke, and also with customers. Jason was a wonderful trainer and kept us all interested the whole time. Thank you so much Jason and David for the enjoyable training."
