deafPLUS is a registered medium-sized charity and company limited by guarantee working to encourage integration and equality between D/deaf and hearing people in all areas of life. We provide a range of services from advocacy to employment, equipment to information and advice across 6 centres around the UK.
We are seeking an individual with great organisational and interpersonal skills to support our Health and Wellbeing Officer to deliver their project. This role will be based in Whitechapel, London to assist and deliver the following services to clients and meet the project targets. The main tasks include:
1. To work with and support the Health and Wellbeing Officer, meeting project targets and arranging various activities which contribute to the overall wellbeing of clients in Tower Hamlets.
2. To promote and raise awareness of deafness and the communication barriers faced specifically with health-care professionals and GPs.
3. To support the Health and Wellbeing officer to organise walking tours and fun half term activities for families.
4. To support the Health and Wellbeing Officer in arranging and delivering an annual Carers Conference
Working hours: 7.4 hours per week from January 22nd 2017 until 31st August 2018. Job share will be considered.
Location: The candidate will be based at our Whitechapel Centre in London as well as travelling around the Borough of Tower Hamlets.
Salary: £19,761.21 – £20,086.03per annum pro-rata (Scale 3 – 518)
