HAS Service Manager – Job Opportunity

deafPLUS is a registered medium-sized charity and company limited by guarantee working to encourage integration and equality between D/deaf and hearing people in all areas of life. We provide a range of services from Advocacy to Employment, equipment to information and advice across 6 centres around the UK.

Project Overview

The project has been commissioned by Hackney Council to enable an accessible Hackney Advice Service (HAS) as part of a consortium of 5 local voluntary organisations. The partners are deafPLUS, visionPLUS, City & Hackney Mind, Refugee Women’s Association and Royal London Society for Blind People of which deafPLUS is the lead partner. The Service has been set up to meet the needs of local people with mental health issues, disabled people, refugee and migrant women residents of Hackney.

The fundamental aim of HAS is that it is accessible to all disabled residents, refugee and migrant women in Hackney enabling them to understand their rights, access services that they are entitled to and to build their capabilities.

The Person

  • Responsible for ensuring all contractual obligations, set by and for the consortium, are met.
  • Formalise and liaise between the Consortium Partners and external agencies, ensuring that delivery of all projects are met.
  • Will have overall responsibility for the delivery of this project complying with the accredited quality marks.
  • Further develop new statutory funding opportunities; in support of and independent to current projects.

Working hours: 27 hours per week until 31st March 2019 with the possibility of an extension

Location: Whitechapel/Hackney

Salary: £27,434.91 (point 529) pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting)
