deafPLUS is a registered medium-sized charity and company limited by guarantee working to encourage integration and equality between deaf and hearing people in all areas of life. We provide a range of services from Advocacy to Employment, equipment to information and advice across 7 centres around the UK.

In partnership with Ealing Mencap, Age UK, Mind and ECIL, deafPLUS are seeking a Caseworker to provide advice, guidance, signposting and customer representation to adult Ealing residents from the following client groups:
• with sensory impairments including people who are both blind and deaf
• whose disabilities limit their physical mobility
• with learning disabilities
• with autism
• with organic and functional mental health problem
• with substance misuse issues
• Carers of the individuals listed above
• Who have other needs/complex issues that require signposting and support to access other appropriate provision

This can include older people, people who are socially isolated and people who cannot speak English as a first language.

Working hours: 22 hours per week. As the advice service functions 7 days a week, the role requires staff to work occasional days on weekends and later hours for Thursday evening sessions on a rota basis. The hours are negotiable and we will consider job sharing.

Place of work: This is a peripatetic role; the post holder whilst having office facilities at a main base (Lido Centre, 63 Mattock Lane, Ealing, London, W13 9LA), will be expected, to work across the Borough of Ealing at different sites within the community. Home visits will be carried out in exceptional circumstances.

The successful applicant will work closely with deafPLUS’ ESAS Information & Advice Caseworkers and Manager as well as with Ealing Mencap and partners.

Salary: £24,562.45 pro-rata (point 526) depending on experience and qualifications. This post is until 31st March 2019. (extension three years possibly)
